Performance

My performance practice revolves around the realisation and/or development of contemporary, innovative text- and design-oriented performance, working in collaborative relationships with other artists.

I’ve performed with many well-known Australian companies, including Malthouse, Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, Back to Back Theatre, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Fabricated Rooms, Iron Lung Theatre Company, Chamber Made Opera, MKA, Finucane and Smith, HeLD Productions, Hildegard, Playbox and La Mama.

In addition, over the last few years I’ve continued to work independently: I’ve written and performed a new solo work, in collaboration with Alice Darling, Catherine: The Body Politic, which examines the figure of the Australian woman in relation to the landscape and to history; I’m working with Laurence Strangio on an adaptation of a French trilogy; I’ve also worked with Susie Dee, Trudy Hellier and Ian Moorhead on Waking Up Dead, which uses drawing and an ambiguous sound operator to explore loss, grief and betrayal; and created the roles of the Romance Librarian and the Professional Letter Writer for Finucane and Smith’s Carnival of Mysteries, and Good Daughter Martha for The Destroyer.
